Big idea

Storage units grow by powers of 1,000. Each step is huge. This lab helps you feel that scale, not just memorize it.

Remember 1 byte = 8 bits
Decimal 1 KB = 1,000 bytes
Binary 1 KiB = 1,024 bytes
Order KB < MB < GB < TB

Decimal vs. binary

Storage companies usually use decimal prefixes (1 KB = 1,000 bytes). Computers often use binary prefixes (1 KiB = 1,024 bytes). Unless a question says KiB, MiB, or GiB, assume decimal.
