Part 1 Brainstorm (8 min)
Part 2 Storyboard (15 min)
Part 3 Prototype (20 min)
Part 4 Document (5 min)

Part 1: Brainstorm Your Monument (8 Minutes)

  • Generate wild ideas for a new school monument.
  • Write the word STORYBOARD at the top of your paper.
  • Think about how your 2D sketch will translate to 3D.
  • This is your storyboard phase. No idea is too wild.

Part 2: Draw Out Your Monument (15 Minutes)

Bring your vision to life with a storyboard that shows the form, scale, and vibe.

Draw it well. Take the full 15 minutes to make your storyboard the best drawing you can. Use color if you need to.

Part 3: Build Your Prototype (20 Minutes)

  • Translate your storyboard into a rough 3D model.
  • Experiment with shapes, scale, and form.
  • Test what works and refine as you build.
  • Prototypes are rough drafts, not final products.

Part 4: Document and Submit (5 Minutes)

Use your laptop to take a picture of both your paper storyboard and your sculpture prototype, then submit in Canvas.
